FSC Club Championships 2014

Thanks to everyone who took
part and spectated at Sunday's Club and Academy Championships. Hopefully you all enjoyed the event, which went very well. It was wonderful to see the high level of competitive but friendly swimming that took place. Results are posted here , with medals and prizes being distributed on the evening of the 22nd at the Awards Night. We are particularly grateful to the Pool Trust and their staff and to all the volunteers (including those asked at short notice!) for helping the event run smoothly.

FSC Sucess in Development League

FSC finished off the inaugural year of competition with the last in the Development Gala series. Over the 3 Galas we finished 4th of 7 teams. However, this was in a large part due to Formby getting the most Speeding Tickets (see here for explanation).

An indication of how good we really were was in the Relay competition where speeding tickets were ignored and we Finished 2nd.

Congratulations to all who took part and well done.

Formby Swimmers Play Large Part in English Schools Gala

Around 20 Formby Swimming Club swimmers swam in the North West Secondary Schools Championships at Everton Park Pool on Friday night (26/9). Many represented our local Secondary Schools Range High and Formby High, with some representing other schools in the area. Once again our swimmers shone, competing well against top schools in the region for places at the national final in the London Olympic Pool.

Swimmers Make Us Very Proud in Tadpoles Event….

13 swimmers represented Formby Swimming Club at the City of Liverpool’s ‘Tadpoles Event’ over the last two Saturdays (13th and 20th September). The event, an ASA level 3 gala that covers the whole of the Merseyside Area presents tough competition, with many swimmers who represent the other 15 clubs at Regional and National level events attending. Many of these swimmers regularly swim 2 or 3 times the hours in training that we can!

Echo Cup First Gala

Well done to all who competed in the Echo cup. This was our first registered ASA gala and all swimmers had to be ASA Members. Also, this Gala is for the younger swimmers as it is for 12 and under.
We put a sketchy team together as the timing of the Gala meant it fell right in the Holiday season. We had few swimmers in the U9 categories but those did very well against more experience competitors.

NEWS Tadpoles Gala 2014 and M&D League

Hopefully all 9-12 year olds should have received entry forms for the Tadpole League Galas on 13th and 20th September. We encourage all ASA registered children to enter these if possible. You can enter anything from one to six races, but remember forms need to be back with us by Thursday (24th July) this week so we have time to process them on the electronic entry system. If you haven't had a form please ask Paul or Louise Poolside, or Steve Birtles/Kevin Riley from the committee.
