FORMBY REMAIN TOP OF THE LEAGUE AFTER THIRD M&D GALA

Formby remain convincingly on top of the M&D League Division 3 after the third of four league galas. The historic event - the first ever ASA registered Gala held at Formby Pool, went smoothly with Formby running out convincing winners with 172 points from the 50 races. Closest rivals Runcorn came second with 160 points and pushed us all the way to the end, with Warrington and Bridgefield putting in commendable performances too.

Another great result sees Formby remain top of the league….

Another great gala saw Formby Swimming Club remain top of the Merseyside and District Swimming League Division 3 with a series of fantastic swims. This was despite being pipped to first place by one point by Runcorn in an exciting Gala hosted by Bridgefield Swimming Club at Huyton Leisure Centre. The team spirit was fantastic throughout and Formby looked strong the whole way through, with the standings going back and forward from race to race, but ending with Formby on 159 points and Runcorn 160.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Welcome to 2015 ...

Swimming training for all Squads will start again on Friday 2nd January

Next Gala is Round 2 of the M and D's on Sunday 18th January- see above for details

So training is important to keep us at the top of the league

TOP OF THE LEAGUE FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON

Formby Swimming Club (6th December) ended their first ever Merseyside and District
league gala with a superb but hard fought win. We will therefore be top of the Merseyside and District League Division 3 over the Christmas Period! The team, managed by Louise Birtles, Connor Hart and Jess Haney fought hard against strong teams from Runcorn and host club Warrington to come out of this close gala on top by 8 points. Bridgefield were unable to field a team.

FSC Club Championships 2014

Thanks to everyone who took
part and spectated at Sunday's Club and Academy Championships. Hopefully you all enjoyed the event, which went very well. It was wonderful to see the high level of competitive but friendly swimming that took place. Results are posted here , with medals and prizes being distributed on the evening of the 22nd at the Awards Night. We are particularly grateful to the Pool Trust and their staff and to all the volunteers (including those asked at short notice!) for helping the event run smoothly.

FSC Sucess in Development League

FSC finished off the inaugural year of competition with the last in the Development Gala series. Over the 3 Galas we finished 4th of 7 teams. However, this was in a large part due to Formby getting the most Speeding Tickets (see here for explanation).

An indication of how good we really were was in the Relay competition where speeding tickets were ignored and we Finished 2nd.

Congratulations to all who took part and well done.
