Echo Cup First Gala

Well done to all who competed in the Echo cup. This was our first registered ASA gala and all swimmers had to be ASA Members. Also, this Gala is for the younger swimmers as it is for 12 and under.
We put a sketchy team together as the timing of the Gala meant it fell right in the Holiday season. We had few swimmers in the U9 categories but those did very well against more experience competitors.

NEWS Tadpoles Gala 2014 and M&D League

Hopefully all 9-12 year olds should have received entry forms for the Tadpole League Galas on 13th and 20th September. We encourage all ASA registered children to enter these if possible. You can enter anything from one to six races, but remember forms need to be back with us by Thursday (24th July) this week so we have time to process them on the electronic entry system. If you haven't had a form please ask Paul or Louise Poolside, or Steve Birtles/Kevin Riley from the committee.

Formby Swimming Club competed in the second development league gala at Knowsley Pool today (20th July) and came a very credible 4th out of 7 teams. 18 speeding tickets in 62 races meant that once again our full points potential did not link with the actual race results which saw us first in 19 races. It was also clear that some of our bigger, more established rivals put out very strong teams for this exciting gala.

The club would like to thank everyone who contributed to yesterday's Summer Fun
Day at the Royal British Legion. In particular we are truly grateful to Sarah Pierce and her group of volunteers who put in so much time to make the event a massive success for the club - both socially and financially. Without the effort of such people the club simply couldn't operate and compete.

Open Letter to the Formby Pool Trustees

Dear Trustees,

Swimming Blocks and Turning Equipment

Just a quick note to register the sincere thanks of each and every member of the committee at Formby Swimming Club for purchasing and installing the Swimming Blocks and Turning Equipment last week. The quality of the equipment is second to none and will be a real asset for the club's progression - the delight on the swimmers faces was in itself fantastic.

Formby Pool now has Blocks

Over the week of half term Formby Pool have had diving blocks fitted onto the pool to facilitate competitive swimming at the Pool. The changes made were not just limited to adding removable Blocks but also adding Turning boards at the shallow end and drilling new fixings to expand the numbers of lanes available from 5 to 6. All in all a massive step forward for the Swimming Club and coming just after our first competitive Gala this is just what is needed going into the Summer break.
